WORD TRAVELS PRESENTS - CREATIVES FOR CARERS

Word Travels wants to pay writers to deliver fresh words to healthcare workers, grocers, teachers, bus drivers... all the folks on the front-lines of this COVID mess.

Join the Creatives for Carers Zoom Slam for a $20 donation or donate more to support Dial-a-Writer. Help lift spirits and share some gratitude.

First: THE LAUNCH - Creatives for Carers Zoom Slam
May 15th 7:30pm on Zoom

Word Travels launches the Creatives for Carers fundraiser with our first 2020 Zoom Slam. Sit back and soak up verbs from our homes to yours or jump in with a quick verse.

Features: Two award-winning spoken wordsmiths (To Be Announced)

The Slam: Writers sign up through Eventbrite to perform in a Zoom slam.

Theme: "Owed to Carers".

Donate: People who donate $20 or more are invited to be in the Zoom room, watch and interact with the poets. Up to 85 spots available. Zoom links sent to donors.

Judges: This slam will be judged by randomly chosen members of the Zoom audience.

Prize: The top three scorers will join our Word Travels team; paid to deliver poems to carers via devices.

Second: DIAL-A-WRITER DONATIONS
From now to Oct 21st

All donations pay for writers to perform for carers on phone or screen; in live or recorded forms. Writers will perform for carers nominated by Word Travels’ and its partners - currently in discussion with hospitals, medical centres, schools and grocers. Stay tuned as partners are confirmed.

Any donation over $20 will receive a May 15th Zoom Slam invitation.

Nominate:
$50 - Send an original pre-recorded poem to a carer you nominate.

Connect:
$100 - Connect your nominated carer with a private Zoom or phone performance with a live writer.

Dedicate:
$300 - Commission a new bespoke poem or micro-story performed by a live writer in audio or video to a carer nominated by you. Give us some background about this fabulous person including five descriptive words about your carer and our writer will create a special delivery.

Visit:
$1000 - All of the above plus schedule a post-Covid-19 personal visit and live performance. (Travel and accommodation may be additional depending).

Impact:
$2500 and up - let's do something big and fun together.
